Community input needed on future of Olde Town Arvada

ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) — Wednesday night, Olde Town Arvada patrons are invited to take part in an open house to discuss the future of the historic district.The meeting starts at 4 p.m. at New Image Restaurant and Brewery located at 5622 Yukon St. Frequent visitors to Olde Town are invited to come and voice their thoughts.  The historic district’s reinvestment plan is now in its final phase, according to the city's website, and it will shape the 20-year outlook for Olde Town Arvada. Aurora Police use new technology to review bodycam video

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department is finalizing plans to use a new artificial intelligence software called Truleo. The technology will monitor and analyze body cam footage for each officer."Finally, thank goodness there’s a tool that I believe will be a game changer," said Interim Chief Art Acevedo who worked as a strategic advisor for Truleo before joining the department. Ex found guilty of murdering Longmont mail carrier

LONGMONT, Colo. (KDVR) — A woman accused of killing her ex, a Longmont postal worker, has been found guilty of first-degree murder.Investigators have said Devan Schreiner was the ex-girlfriend of victim 33-year-old Jason Schaefer, a mail carrier who was shot and killed in the Somerset Meadows neighborhood. A Boulder County jury delivered the verdict on Tuesday."This defendant is a cold-blooded murderer," 20th Judicial District Attorney Michael Dougherty said in a statement. (KDVR) — A Centennial mother is among several families filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the social media app Snapchat.Patti Lujan said in March 2020, her daughter, Lauren, attempted to buy Percocet from a drug dealer on Snapchat.Lujan said it was actually laced with fentanyl. Lauren, 17 years old and months from graduation, did not survive."She was just a bright light and she made people feel good," Lujan said. She said an ensuing criminal investigation yielded no arrests in the case.
