BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — It’s Romain Grosjean’s turn to start up front for Andretti Autosport.The former Formula 1 driver and Swiss-born Frenchman is trying to duplicate teammate Kyle Kirkwood’s pole-to-win performance after claiming the pole position for Sunday’s IndyCar race at Barber Motorsports Park.Grosjean emerged with his third pole and second of the season on Saturday after some of the biggest names failed to make it to the final round, including points leader and reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Marcus Ericsson, three-time champion Josef Newgarden and two-time winner Will Power.Grosjean, who finished second to Kirkwood at Long Beach, won the pole for the opener at St. Petersburg but finished 18th after colliding with Scott McLaughlin. Barricaded suspect in Jeffco taken into custody

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) -- Deputies in Jefferson County took a possibly armed suspect who was barricaded in someone's home Saturday afternoon into custody without incident, the sheriff's office said.A shelter-in-place order was put in place for a quarter-mile radius around the house in the 3200 block of Beech Court in Golden, but then lifted after the situation was resolved.According to the Jeffco Sheriff's Office, at 33rd Avenue and Arbutus Street, a patrol vehicle contacted the suspect in a stolen vehicle. The suspect ran away and entered the house.The resident of the house was able to exit it safely after the suspect entered.SWAT assisted on scene with the sheriff's office deputies.FOX31 will provide updates as they become available.

DENVER (KDVR) -- The Denver Broncos had five picks in the 2023 NFL Draft with the first selection slated for the second round. How did the Broncos get so far down in the pecking order? Star quarterback Russell Wilson and head coach Sean Payton. Denver traded two first-round, two second-round and a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft for Wilson along with other current players at the time. That depleted the team of all draft picks it had in the queue. The Broncos acquired a first-round pick from the Miami Dolphins when they traded Bradley Chubb, but gave that up when they made a deal with the New Orleans Saints to hire Payton, as he was still under contract with the team. KENOSHA, Wisconsin (WISN) — Kenosha police helped an elderly man get out of his van just in time as it burst into flames.Donald Schmelling told WISN 12 News he was driving on Sheridan Road in Kenosha around 9 p.m. Tuesday, when he heard his tire pop.“I was looking for a place to stop and all of the sudden the sparks came, because when the tire went flat, the rims hit the road, that’s where the sparks came from,” Schmelling said.The sparks created a streak of fire along Sheridan Road, like a stunt scene in Hollywood.A Kenosha police officer, luckily right behind with his dash camera recording.Drivers reported the man’s van for reckless driving, and an officer nearby was there just in time.The van then burst into flames. Border detention facilities reach capacity amid spike in migrants

(CNN) — Detention facilities along the US-Mexico border have surpassed capacity as a growing number of migrants cross into the United States leading up to the May 11 expiration of a Covid-era border restriction known as Title 42, according to a Department of Homeland Security official.As of Saturday morning, there were more than 20,500 migrants in US Customs and Border Protection custody along the US southern border, the official said, stressing the number of people in custody fluctuates throughout the day.The Rio Grande Valley sector, which encompasses south Texas, had nearly 7,000 migrants in custody as of Saturday morning, the Homeland Security official said. After having a nice spring day to wrap up the work week, a weather system now heading into New England will continue to bring in soggy weather for Sunday. Showers and mist are expected most of the day, with a break in the steadier rain midday and early afternoon. The heaviest rain moves in Sunday evening with a coastal low passing by. In total, 1/2″ to as much as 3″ of rain is expected through early Monday morning. The rain will also be accompanied by some wind, at times gusting over 20mph.
