(NEXSTAR) — Chances are, when it comes to the viral Stanley cups, you’re in one of three positions: a big fan, confused by the obsession, or unsure what Stanley tumblers even are. Regardless of where you stand, let’s revisit what happened earlier this week. Videos began circulating online of people, mostly women, were seen standing outside Target stores or pouncing on the displays of some limited edition Stanley cups. One customer even claimed that a “brawl” broke out.The pink and red tumblers in question were part of a special release ahead of Valentine’s Day. Stanley partnered with Starbucks to create a variety for just under $50. Or, they will engage meteorologists in a conversation about the actual weather. In the past, those dialogues were easy to facilitate because there wasn't a great deal to debate.The times have changed those discussions. Three children now dead from early morning St. Paul house fire

A father who lost three of his six children in a fire earlier this week pleaded with the community to teach their children to call 911 and escape their home in a fire.Pa Cheng Vang Vang, 25, spoke at a press conference at the Hmong 18 Council offices in St. Paul, surrounded by members of the Hmong community.“I don’t want anyone else to face the same pain,” he said. “I never (want to) see any news … your family in the same condition as my family.”Three of his children have now perished from injuries sustained in the early morning fire Wednesday that trapped his six children and wife in their Payne-Phalen home while he was at work.Sivntxhi Vang, 5, was identified by the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office as the first chid to die. CASS COUNTY — An 82-year-old Bemidji man has been pronounced dead after his ATV broke through the ice on Friday morning on Pike Bay in Cass Lake.Dispatch received a report at 11:15 a.m. Friday that the ATV broke through the ice on Pike Bay and a person had gone into the water, according to a release from Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk.First responders arrived at the scene and learned that a Polaris Ranger ATV had been traveling on the ice when it broke through.The ATV driver, an 82-year-old Bemidji man, was pulled from the water by witnesses who were fishing in the area, the release said. Lifesaving efforts were initiated by people who were on the ice near the incident.Deputies assisted in getting the man to a safer area and continued with lifesaving efforts, the release said. The man was then taken from the ice by airboat to an awaiting ambulance and taken to the Cass Lake Indian Services Hospital where lifesaving efforts were continued.The man was later pronounced dead at the hosp...

The emergency landing of a Boeing 737 Max jetliner with a gaping hole in its side and the airline’s decision to ground identical planes is renewing questions about the safety of Boeing’s best-selling plane — one that was involved in two deadly crashes.A window panel blew out on an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-9 Max seven minutes after takeoff from Portland, Oregon, on Friday. The rapid loss of cabin pressure pulled the clothes off a child and caused oxygen masks to drop from the ceiling, but miraculously none of the 174 passengers and six members were injured. Pilots made a safe emergency landing.Hours after the terrifying incident, Alaska Airlines announced that it would ground its entire fleet of 65 Max 9s for inspections and maintenance. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department announced they are investigating a shooting that occurred on January 5. The incident took place on Henry Johnson Boulevard. On Friday at 6:55 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Henry Johnson Boulevard following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year-old with a gunshot wound to his leg.The victim was tended to on the scene by emergency medical personnel before being taken to Albany Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the victim was reportedly involved in a conflict with a man that is known to him. Multiple injured, one dead in bus rollover on I-87 The investigation remains ongoing. Man arrested after police chase for alleged vehicle theft

(KRON) – A man was arrested for alleged vehicle theft after a brief pursuit on Dec. 31, the Vallejo Police Department announced on Friday. Vallejo officers located a stolen 1979 Ford F250 in the parking lot on the 1600 block of Fairgrounds Drive occupied by two men.  Dispatch audio: Oakland officer Tuan Le’s killer is in custody According to the police investigation, the vehicle was stolen out of Vallejo. The vehicle attempted to flee as the officers entered the parking lot, police said.
