AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — A suspect has been identified in the killing of a 15-year-old boy as officials work to quell worries about safety near the Aurora shopping mall where he was killed.Raphael Velin was killed at the Southlands shopping center on Sept. 30. Police now say they have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in the killing.“To the family of the suspect, you need to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. This individual is wanted for murder,” interim Aurora Police Chief Art Acevedo said.Acevedo said the teen's killing was not related to homecoming celebrations, but he said it was a risky pre-planned meeting. WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden has been interviewed as part of an independent investigation into his handling of classified documents, the White House said late Monday. It's a possible sign that the investigation is nearing its end. Special counsel Robert Hur is investigating the improper retention of classified documents from Biden’s time as a U.S. senator and as vice president that were found at his Delaware home, as well as at a private office that he used in between his service in the Obama administration and becoming president.Biden has said he did not know the documents were there.Ian Sams, a spokesperson for the White House counsel's office, said in a statement that the interview was voluntary and conducted at the White House on Sunday and Monday. Affidavit: Suspect's drug use, fear of being robbed led up to parole officer's death

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An arrest affidavit for 41-year-old Justin Kula, the man arrested for hitting and killing Parole Officer Christine Guerin Sandoval, shows that Kula thought he was being robbed and had been using drugs at the time of the hit-and-run crash.According to the arrest papers, Kula's ex-wife originally contacted parole officers stating she was concerned about his welfare due to drug use. Kula also had an active arrest warrant for a parole violation. Arrest papers state that Kula's ex-wife provided his location to State Parole, and that three officers in an unmarked car found Kula sitting in the driver's seat of a Lexus RX-330 in a parking lot near North Spruce Street and West Bijou Street. The Lexus bore a stolen license plate. DENVER (KDVR) — The MLB postseason has arrived, and that means changes to the TV schedule as FOX31 airs live playoff games from Fox Sports.On Tuesday, Oct. 10, FOX31 will have a double-header with coverage starting at 1 p.m. and continuing to 9 p.m., followed by FOX31 News.Game 3 of the American League Divisional Series with the Houston Astros at the Minnesota Twins starts at 2 p.m. on FOX31.
