SOUTH COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- According to the South Colonie Central School District website, their Board of Education has adopted a resolution to rebrand, phasing out the nickname "Raiders" over two years. The decision comes in light of the New York State Board of Regents’ regulation that bans all names and images of school mascots that currently or were related to Indigenous people prior. Driver charged in Duanesburg trooper-involved shooting

DUANESBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police have provided an update on the investigation regarding Friday's trooper-involved shooting in Duanesburg. In a press conference on Friday afternoon, New York State Police say Trooper Albert observed a silver SUV traveling over 100 miles per hour on I-88. Trooper Albert conducted a traffic stop, and as he approached the driver’s side of the vehicle, the driver, Eriole, put down the window, and the passenger, Nelson Troche, opened fire.Police say both suspects exited the car and attempted to carjack another vehicle during the incident. Police are investigating at least three armed robberies that occurred in North Hills early Monday and two juveniles are in custody. Four displaced in two-alarm Oakland fire

(AP) — Two people were killed when a shooter began firing “randomly” into a crowd at campground that was hosting people attending an electronic dance music festival on Saturday night, police said.Three people were wounded, including the alleged shooter.Authorities received the first report of the shooting shortly before 8:30 p.m. at the camping area a few hundred yards from the Gorge Amphitheater, where thousands of people were attending the Beyond Wonderland festival, said Kyle Foreman, public information officer with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
