LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A man seen driving a stolen vehicle was arrested last month after a high-speed pursuit in St. Ann.According to a report filed by the St. Ann Police Department, the incident took place on June 24. Earlier that morning, a woman reported her 1995 Saturn SLI had been stolen. Police: Man forces his way into apartment, assaults girlfriend

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A St. Louis man is facing domestic abuse charges for allegedly forcing his way into his girlfriend's apartment and attacking her.According to a report filed by the Ferguson Police Department, the incident took place in the early morning hours of June 28, in the 1300 block of Ferguson Avenue.Police claim Robert Stokes, 31, drove to his girlfriend's residence to confront her about the state of their relationship.Stokes banged on the door, but the girlfriend refused to let him inside. Eventually, he pushed the door open and entered the apartment uninvited. St. Louis woman finally gets towed vehicle back from Streets Dept. Police say the girlfriend picked up a phone to call 911, but Stokes knocked the phone from her hand and slapped her. He then dragged her across the floor by her hair.EMTs responded to the apartment, and the victim was treated at the scene for her injuries. Two Democratic lawmakers have filed a lawsuit against the Colorado House of Representatives and its leaders, alleging a “series of long-standing practices” that violated the state’s open-meetings laws.Reps. Elisabeth Epps and Bob Marshall, both of whom just finished their first terms in the House, filed the lawsuit and wrote that they became aware of alleged “pervasive violations” of the state open-meetings law by lawmakers from both parties shortly after they began working as legislators in January. CHP arrests driver of suspected stolen tractor-trailer in Buena Park

The California Highway Patrol arrested the driver of an allegedly stolen tractor-trailer in Orange County Monday morning.The vehicle was reported stolen out of San Bernardino, according to the CHP.Officers pursued it on the westbound 91 Freeway until reaching Buena Park, where the semi exited and eventually came to a stop on Altura Boulevard.At least four CHP vehicles pulled up behind the semi and took the driver into custody after he exited the truck around 9:20 a.m.The identity of the driver has not been released.
