It’s that Christmas present sitting under the tree, pristinely wrapped and staring at you for weeks. Or it’s that story a friend said you just had to hear, only to make you wait for it.The expected new-look Gophers offense will finally be unsheathed for the first time in the 2023 season opener against Nebraska on Thursday night at Huntington Bank Stadium.P.J. James Anderson Sr. was recently reported missing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Fulton County Sheriff's Office at (518) 736-2100. New York State International Short Film Festival returns to Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State International Short Film is slated to return to Albany on September 22 and 23. Heralded as a remarkable cinematic journey, the annual 2-day festival highlights a variety of independent short films and allows viewers to engage with the filmmakers through Q&A panels. Awards will be handed out in each genre, in addition to the Best Young Filmmaker Award. Two St. Louis City high schools lead new list ranking best in Missouri

ST. LOUIS - Two institutions in the City of St. Louis lead a new list ranking the best public high schools in Missouri. US News and World Report released its annual rankings of the best high schools in the nation earlier this week. The rankings also break down the best high schools in each state. For Missouri, the top two schools recognized are both in the Saint Louis Public Schools district. That includes Metro Academic and Classical High School at the top and the Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience as the runner-up. "It's a big day for SLPS! We now have the TOP TWO HIGH SCHOOLS IN MISSOURI!" the district replied in response to the rankings via Twitter. High schools in the St. Louis and Kansas City metros dominated the top of the list. Driver without license plates sparks high-speed chase in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A man driving a vehicle without license plates reportedly led officers on a high speed chase around north St. Louis County last week. Prosecutors have charged Rashaud First with resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child in the investigation. St. Charles County Executive says residents taking unfair advantage of flood buyout program According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, the chase began on Aug. 24 on New Halls Ferry Road. Chevron tells state it plans layoffs as part of purchase of Denver’s PDC Energy

After completing its $7.6 billion purchase of PDC Energy, Chevron Corp. expects to terminate at least one-third of the positions at PDC’s offices in Denver and Evans, but the company said people can apply for open jobs at the merged company.As required by state law, Chevron notified the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment of the impending layoffs Aug. 25.
