DENVER (KDVR) — Two suspects were arrested in Denver after they were allegedly involved in a robbery, a short pursuit and then a shooting with police. At around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, the Denver Police Department tweeted that they were investigating an officer-involved shooting that included officers from the Thornton Police Department.According to Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas, the incident began around 3:45 a.m. near 100th and Quivas in Thornton where a burglary was reported. Officers in unmarked cars began to follow the suspected vehicle when the suspects fired shots. A pursuit began down southbound Interstate 25 to 48th Avenue. ‘Car surfing’ trend linked to 16-year-old’s death Once the suspects exited on 48th Avenue, DPD said the driver lost control and crashed in the 4800 block of Eliot in the Chaffee Park neighborhood. SWAT situation underway in Dania Beach hotel

The Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a situation in Dania Beach prompting them to block off entrances and exits to a hotel.On Wednesday morning, authorities were dispatched to the Rodeway Inn and Suites located at 2440 FL-84 where a person reportedly barricaded themselves in a room. Live video footage showed numerous fire rescue crews on the scene. SWAT teams were also on the scene where it appeared they were still attempting to gain access to the room. One witness said they only saw one firetruck, but then noticed more activity in the back of the building.Locals in the area will not be able to enter or exit the hotel as police investigate the incident. More than half of US teachers think being armed would make students less safe, report finds

(CNN) — More than half of the country’s teachers believe arming themselves would make students less safe, while one in five say they would be interested in carrying a gun to school, according to a new report from the RAND Corporation.The survey, which was conducted in October and November 2022, found that 54% of teachers think carrying firearms would make schools less safe, 20% believe teacher-carry programs would make schools safer, and 26% feel it would make schools neither more nor less safe.The report zeroed in on how K-12 teachers viewed safety in their schools, and responses varied according to both teachers’ and students’ race and ethnicity.White teachers felt that carrying firearms would make schools safer more than their Black colleagues did, and male teachers in rural schools said they would personally carry a firearm in their school if allowed, according to the survey findings.The survey estimates 550,000 of the country’s 3 million K-12 teachers would choose to carry a fi...
