Connecticut seeks to rein in high TCH marijuana products

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — After discovering cannabis products are being sold in convenience and CBD stores across Connecticut with higher levels of THC than regulated dispensaries, legislators moved Tuesday to impose new restrictions on the amount of marijuana’s main intoxicating component in these products.The bipartisan legislation, which cleared the state House on a nearly unanimous vote, marks the first major update of the state’s fledgling recreational marijuana program that kicked off in January.“All we’re trying to do is make sure that any products that are sold with a significant amount of THC in Connecticut are sold in our regulated marketplace through the dispensaries, where there’s labeling requirements, there’s per package requirements, there’s per container requirements,” said Rep. USCG launches search and rescue efforts for downed aircraft near San Clemente Island

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. -- A search and rescue operation has been launched by U.S. Coast Guard Air Station San Diego after reports of a downed aircraft near San Clemente Island, officials said.In a tweet at 8:51 a.m. Wednesday, USCG Southern California said an H-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew is searching for three people who were onboard an aircraft that they say went down about one mile southwest of San Clemente Island.This is a developing story. Federally regulated workplaces will soon provide menstrual products for free

Federally regulated workplaces are expected to begin offering free menstrual products to workers starting in mid-December.Labour Minister Seamus O’Regan has announced changes to the Canada Labour Code that would ensure access to such products beginning Dec. 15.The Liberals promised in their 2021 election campaign to make free tampons and pads available in federally regulated workplaces, and set up a fund to make menstrual products available to vulnerable people.The 2022 federal budget allocated $25 million to establish a national pilot for the menstrual equity fund, which aims to help make menstrual products available to people who may have challenges affording them.Increased awareness of “period poverty” — a term used to describe financial barriers to accessing menstrual products — has led various jurisdictions to make menstrual products more widely available.Scotland passed a law last year to make menstrual products free for anyone who needs them.

4 arrested in North Macedonia after cocaine bust in Greece
